The Texas man federal officials accused in September of insider trading before Dell Inc.’s acquisition of Perot Systems Corp. agreed to return $8.6 million he earned from the trade.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission disclosed that former Perot Investments Inc. employee Reza Saleh agreed to pay as a partial resolve to allegations. Perot Investments is a common affiliate with private company Perot Systems Corp.

SEC officials will also ask a Dallas federal court to impose a civil fine against Saleh.

Saleh, 53, bought 9,332 Perot call option contracts through two TD Ameritrade brokerages from Sept. 4-18, a decision regulators said was based on the impending $3.9 billion acquisition by Round Rock-based Dell (Nasdaq: DELL).

Dell, the No. 3 computer maker in the world, employs 16,000 workers in Central Texas. The

acquisition, the largest in Dell’s history, was completed in November.

The Marcus Graham Project Deploys The Future

The second Year of ad industry-sponsored boot camp met with success

Nearly one month ago, 11 young men completed a summer long program that has truly enhanced the course of their lives. The 2010 Class of The Marcus Graham Project’s iCR8 Summer Boot Camp was able to get a glimpse into their future and move forward with an even stronger passion for everything that they would like to achieve. It is because of the collective support and well wishes of the advertising & media community both in Dallas and abroad that they were able to have a tremendous summer of learning, growth and relationship building.

In its second year, the boot camp promotes diversity and inclusion by giving aspirants in the field of advertising and marketing the exposure and experience necessary to solidify careers within the industry. As part of the program, boot camp participants created a full-service agency called MetaTHINQ, for which they will implement a full-scale market research study focusing on connectivity, and provide real-world marketing and advertising solutions for AT&T, Globe Aware, Passport and other clients.

So far, out of the six team members that were looking for immediate employment or internships at the end of the summer, three of them have now received paid internship opportunities at Wieden + Kennedy in Portland, as well as The Richards Group and RAPP in Dallas. Please join MGP in congratulating Brian Lee, Sebastian Go and Kevin Green on their next step into becoming successful in this industry.

“After my first few days here [at Wieden + Kennedy] I can definitely say that The Marcus Graham Project prepared me for this opportunity,” says Brian Lee, one of the boot camp graduates. “Had I not experienced the ten weeks of intense training, I can honestly say that I would not have been prepared.”

Don’t Dwell on Anything Too Long, it’s the BIGGEST waste of time. Dwelling is something we all do. We sit, think and rethink about something. It’s a quick way to waste your time. If something is bothering you, work on it. If all you’re doing is thinking about it, then your not moving the mountain. SO Don’t dwell on anything too long.

Funny how God works. Got a phone call to confirm my employment at a janitorial company. I thought that was odd considering I didn’t apply at one… Chatted with the arrogant owner for a moment and said “Maam there is a mistake, could you correct it”. She basically told me she didn’t make mistakes. Two weeks later I get another call for verification of employment at a Subway. SO, I’m going to have a Subway sandwich in another city. Escorted by a few friends in blue. In the old days, this would have been a baseball bat moment. However, I have too many priorities to live that way now. I decided to first pray about the situaton. The scary thing is God delivered the person’s name and personal information to me as well. Join me in praying for this person because their about to have ME, IRS, Social Security, The police, and a whole lot of people escorting them to a new job ….JAIL!

What do you see when you look out your window? Wouldn’t it be nice if we could flip a switch and change what we see when we look outside our windows? It’s not easy to change what you see, but it’s easier to change “THE WAY” you see things. WHAT? Spend some time working on your view of the world. You can change your position, location, and direction by simply working on the way you look at the world around you. If you hold up an open set of hands you can receive more than you can when you hold up two fist. This week, change your view by taking a moment to receive more information, blessings, knowledge. This week, listen more and speak less.

Are YOU Networking w/ the Right People? Or do you find yourself at the same events with the same people? When you leave the event, do you sit in your car wondering why you went? While you drive home does your mind race about all the things you could be doing if you had the right contacts. Your next promotion/opportunity might be a phone call + text + FB + Tweet. Stop selling yourself short. POWER NETWORK! Push yourself into a new social circle. Start with a charity event or business networking function (that you never attended before). When you arrive, make it a MISSION to talk to at least 10 people. Before you leave the event, send them an email or txt (This will blow their mind). I attended a networking event this week and won a book. As soon as the author handed me the book with his card in it, I grabbed my Blackberry and sent him a thank you note. 5 minutes later he walked over to me and said “You sent me a message already, that’s amazing!” – The name of his book Winning Strategies “Secrets to Clinching Multimillion Dollar Deals”. By the way, we’re meeting next week for lunch.
